LOVE YOUR BEACH - LOVE YOUR PLANET - PARTY RECAP

What a night !!!!

Thank you to everyone who joined us on the second floor of Bright Eye Beer—we were thrilled to welcome over 130 members of our Long Beach arts community. Musicians, photographers, painters, muralists, families, and friends all came together to celebrate creativity, connection, and our shared love for this city.

The evening was filled with joy—from our flower bar and native seed bombs, to our kid-friendly art activities led by Ivy (decoupage seashells, painting, and flower coloring), to the incredible community art piece led by Jonathan Willard. Using a stunning piece of driftwood—spat out by the ocean and discovered by Jonathan—the community helped transform it into a one-of-a-kind artwork that will soon be exhibited at Sol.

We were honored by remarks from George Ennis, highlighting the importance of the arts in Long Beach and their positive economic impact on our community.

And the music! The jam session brought the house to life with Katie Mitchell, Sammy Louis, and our incredible 11-year-old DJ prodigy OAsoundz—a true celebration of local talent and energy.

We also took a moment to honor the muralists who have helped transform our boardwalk into an open-air gallery between Lindell and Washington, including Michelle Dodd, Echo, Carlo Thertus, and Book of Jedidiah. Their work is at the heart of our Art Walk, which now spans 20+ businesses, 25 locations, and 60 local artists across Long Beach.

We are so grateful to Bioswale Initiative and Arts in Partnership for their collaboration and support in bringing this vision to life.

And speaking of… the Long Beach NY Arts Council cannot wait for May 16th PorchFest, when live music will take over Long Beach all day long. We hope to see you there.

With gratitude and excitement for what’s ahead,
The Long Beach NY Arts Council 💙
