💚 $5
The Long Beach NY Arts Council is thrilled to invite local businesses to participate in our Art Trail Long Beach, a community initiative connecting local upcycling artists with businesses willing to host creative work in their spaces.
Do you have walls, shelves, indoor space, or even an outdoor area that could welcome artwork?
By opening your space, you help support local artists who transform reclaimed and recycled materials into unique works of art, while bringing creativity and discovery into the heart of Long Beach.
Participating businesses will become part of the Art Trail Map, encouraging residents and visitors to explore local shops, restaurants, and community spaces while discovering sustainable art.
This is a wonderful way to celebrate art, sustainability, and local business together.
What We Ask From Participating Businesses
• Provide wall, shelf, or display space for an artist
• Allow artwork to be displayed during the program
• Share one social media post tagging the Long Beach Arts Council and the participating artist

Art Trail Long Beach
The Long Beach NY Arts Council is excited to invite local upcycling artists to participate in Art Trail Long Beach, a community initiative celebrating creativity, sustainability, and our love for the planet and the ocean.
If you are a local artist who transforms reclaimed, recycled, or repurposed materials into art, we would love to connect with you.
We are partnering with local Long Beach businesses who are offering walls, shelves, indoor and outdoor spaces to showcase your work as part of our Art Trail during Earth Week and beyond.
This is a wonderful opportunity to exhibit your work in local businesses, connect with the community, and celebrate sustainable creativity in Long Beach.
How It Works
• Artists sign up to participate
• The Long Beach Arts Council connects you with a local business
• Artists install and display their artwork in the assigned location
• Businesses and artists become part of the Art Trail Long Beach map
Artists are responsible for hanging and installing their own work once matched with a business location.
Deadline for submission: April 1, 2026
Susan Gallo’s vision goes beyond infrastructure: it’s about blending environmental stewardship with public art and community engagement. The Bioswale Initiative encourages residents, artists, and local organizations to come together to create functional, beautiful spaces that support marine life, celebrate the beach ecosystem, and inspire long-term care for our environment.
Call for Muralists and Street Artists
Long Beach Boardwalk — Spring 2026
The Long Beach NY Arts Council invites muralists and street artists to participate in a unique, large-scale public art opportunity on the Long Beach Boardwalk.
We are activating three highly visible mural spaces as part of the Bioswhale Initiative, led by Susan Gallo — a community-driven effort that blends art, environmental awareness, and coastal stewardship. This initiative aims to transform the boardwalk into a vibrant, living gallery that celebrates both creativity and our connection to the ocean.
Theme: Blessing of the Water
Inspired by Algonquin traditions, this theme invites artists to reflect on water as a source of life, renewal, and protection — honoring both the history of our land and the future of our shoreline.
The Opportunity
Selected artists will have the chance to create large-scale murals in a prime public location seen by thousands of residents and visitors daily throughout the spring and summer season.
Project Structure
This is a self-directed, independent artist opportunity:
No upfront funding is provided
Artists are responsible for their own materials and execution
No production or logistical support is included
We are seeking artists who are motivated, resourceful, and excited to take creative ownership of their work.
Key Details

Application Deadline: April 1, 2026
