The City of Long Beach is making several of its boardwalk beach ticket booths available to artists to be painted with a cohesive mural design. If you are interested, please submit your artwork through the link below by the deadline.

Description of Work:

• Mural designs should cover all four exterior sides of each beach ticket booth station, including doors and windows.

• The City will secure sponsors for each booth, and artists will be asked to paint their booth sponsor's logo somewhere visible (approximately 1×1ft in size).

• Artists are to supply their own materials. Only exterior grade paint may be used.

• Painting will be done in-place on the boardwalk. Locations are TBD.

• Painting should be completed in one day. Note ticket booths will be pre-primed by the City.

• Artists will be permitted to sign their work and include social media handles.

Payment: $500 payment, plus up to $100 reimbursement for supplies.

Timeline:

Thursday May 21 (Midnight) - Deadline to submit renderings

May 22 - 29 - Winning artists will be selected and notified

May 29 - June 14 - Painting window. Each artist may choose the day they would like to paint. Painting should be done by June 14 or earlier.

Additional Information

• Submissions that include only AI generated artwork are discouraged. If you submit an AI generated design, it should be accompanied by actual artwork that demonstrates your artistic style/design/skill.

• Multiple beach ticket booths will be made available, so it’s anticipated that multiple artists will be procured.

• If you already submitted artwork through Phase 1 of this project (i.e. submissions that were due April 19, 2026), then your previous submission will be considered for Phase 2, so there is no need to resubmit.
