The Long Beach Arts Council is delighted to welcome Eastline Theatre to our city this summer for a free performance of one of Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies!
On Saturday, June 28th at 1:00 PM, the “little but fierce” company brings Much Ado About Nothing to the Long Beach Public Library as part of their Free Summer Shakespeare Across Long Island tour. There’s something wonderfully fitting about Shakespeare in the heart of summer. Much Ado About Nothing is a sparkling tangle of wit, mistaken identity, and romance — anchored by Beatrice and Benedick, the original sparring couple whose razor-sharp banter has been making audiences laugh for more than four centuries. It’s funny, it’s warm, and it’s endlessly quotable, making it the perfect introduction to Shakespeare for newcomers and a treat for longtime fans alike.
Eastline Theatre has built a reputation for bringing accessible, vibrant, live theatre to communities all across Long Island, performing at libraries, parks, museums, and gardens from Hicksville to Amityville. We’re thrilled they’ve made Long Beach a stop on this year’s tour, and we love seeing the arts woven into the everyday fabric of our community spaces.
The performance is free and open to the public, but to make sure you have a seat you can also reserve your spot in advance through the Long Beach Public (https://longbeachpl.librarycalendar.com/event/addams-family-long-beach-arts-council-112467).
Bring the whole family, bring a friend, and bring your sense of humor!
